Project description

Problem statement

Agrigistics wanted to move away from their WordPress implemented website. They were moving into a new era with a bigger focus on marketing and wanted a website that showed that. They also needed a way for their product and marketing teams to align on design and tonality of the brand.

Proposed solution

I needed to create brand guidelines which their product and marketing teams could use to align. I then needed to use those guidelines to build design a modern website which could be maintained by non technical users.

My role

I led the UX/UI design, website development, and created brand guidelines for the internal marketing and product teams.

Process & execution

I created brand guidelines on their, then current, brand and UI elements in Figma. I then did research on the industries they served and looked into ways to incorporated colours and visuals for the different industries into their website design. I design a sitemap and created user journeys for their new marketing website in Figjam. From there I proceeded in designing the UI which was followed with building the new website using NextJS, Payload CMS and Supabase. A key decision I made here was separating styling from the core application in such a way that a rebrand was easy to do.

Key features

  • A comprehensive brand guidelines document allowing multiple teams to align on the brand.

  • A modern engaging website that spoke to each industry separately with visuals and colours representing them.

  • Easy to use CMS with real time updates.

  • Webworkers were used to boost the performance of the website

Outcome

A fast, company brand aligned website with Lighthouse scores of 98 and above. When the company rebranded to Allwage, the website required only a theme update, the underlying system remained intact. This demonstrated the power of a well-structured, multi-brand design and development approach.

Note

The implementation has since been updated and may not align with the above case study.
